Last February 24th Fusion for Energy (F4E) informed ALTER that it had won the contract.

Support services in the fields of CE Marking and Regulatory Compliance

Within the ITER (International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor) framework project for Fusion for Energy (F4E). F4E is the European Union organisation managing Europe’s contribution to ITER— the biggest scientific experiment on the path to fusion energy.

Strong competitors participated in this tender. However, thanks to ALTER's know-how and prestige, this did not prevent it from being preferred candidate. For this new phase, ALTER's bid was reinforced by the participation of other companies of the group: TÜV Nederland, TÜV Czech, Cualicontrol, TÜV Cert Germany, TÜV Italy and TÜV Cyprus.

The objective of this contract is to support F4E in CE marking on all the equipment that F4E will supply to ITER. This is a 6-year project, with bi-annual renewals.

ALTER has a long history of providing this type of service, and has been performing this same task for F4E for the last 6 years. Various tasks will be carried out such as the evaluation of the applicability of CE marking or the support in the French regulation for the commissioning and inspections of the equipment.
