ACCEDE | ESCCON 2025

Europe’s top space electronics event
ACCEDE I ESCCON 2025 concludes with resounding success, solidifying its position as Europe's premier event on electronic components for space

From 25 to 27 March, Seville became the epicentre of the European space electronics industry, hosting the first-ever joint edition of ACCEDE (Assessment of Commercial Components Enabling Disruptive Space Electronics) and ESCCON (The European Space Components Conference). Organised by ALTER and the Spanish Space Agency, this landmark event brought together leading experts, institutions, and companies to discuss the latest developments in EEE components for space applications.

A milestone event for the European space sector

The convergence of ACCEDE and ESCCON in a single forum successfully combined cutting-edge discussions on the use and validation of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) components with the latest advancements in the ESCC system framework. Participants from universities, industry, and space agencies exchanged knowledge and methodologies to ensure the safe and efficient use of COTS components in both New Space programmes—such as constellations and small satellites—and high-reliability space missions.

A prestigious institutional opening

The conference was inaugurated by high-level institutional and industry representatives, including the Mayor of Seville, José Luis Sanz; the Regional Minister for Industry, Energy and Mines, Jorge Paradela; the Director of the Spanish Space Agency, José María Pérez; from the Spanish Space Agency, Britta Schade; and the CEO of ALTER, Luis Gómez. Their participation underscored the strategic role of the space sector in fostering technological advancement and economic growth in Seville, Spain, and across Europe.

Key discussions: Reliability, innovation, and European sovereignty

Over three days, the event featured an extensive programme covering the most pressing topics in space electronics:

  • ACCEDE: Ensuring the reliability of COTS in space

Experts from space agencies, industry, and academia presented studies, evaluations, and methodologies to enhance the performance and reliability of commercial electronic components in complex space environments.

  • ESCCON: Driving innovation and standardisation

The conference explored advancements in photonics, advanced manufacturing, packaging technologies, and wide bandgap power devices, alongside discussions on European sovereignty in electronic components, standardisation, and the evolution of quality assurance policies.

  • Industrial exhibition and networking

An industrial exhibition showcased the latest technological solutions in electronic components for space applications, while networking sessions facilitated key collaborations within the European space industry.

A record-breaking edition

The overwhelming response from the industry exceeded all expectations. Participants praised the quality of discussions, the relevance of the topics, and the excellent organisation, making this first joint edition of ACCEDE I ESCCON a resounding success.

Seville has once again demonstrated its key role in the European aerospace agenda, and the success of ACCEDE I ESCCON 2025 sets the stage for future editions that will continue to shape the future of EEE components in space.
