Argentinean telecommunications satellite

The ArSat-1 (Argentina Satellite-1) is the first geostationary telecommunications satellite built in Argentina. It was produced for Argentine satellite operator ARSAT by the also Argentine company INVAP, with Airbus Defence and Space and Thales Alenia Space as leading equipment suppliers.

The spacecraft, operating from an orbital position of 71.8º West, is set to deliver a wide range of telecommunications, data transmission, telephone and television services across all of Argentina, Chile, Uruguay and Paraguay.

ATN has procured and tested the Electronic Components for the equipments produced by its customer INVAP for this model and for ARSAT-2 and 3, which are scheduled to be launch in 2015.
