Environment

In line with TNG's strategy, ALTER TECHNOLOGY is committed to decarbonization by 2030, which means that CO2 emissions from business travel, use of the real estate, and consumption of business resources will be 0 by 2030.

To achieve this key objective, an interim target has been defined: a 45% reduction in CO2 emissions by 2025 compared to 2019. Measures have been developed to achieve this target by applying the triad "avoid, reduce, offset". For example, videoconferencing instead of face-to-face meetings is an "avoid" measure. Energy efficiency actions, such as switching off lights and appliances when not in use, are part of the "reduce" measures.  Only emissions that can no longer be avoided will be compensated by certified climate protection projects.

To monitor this reduction, our controllers, led by Vicente Gorriño, regularly report to the corporate function on the number of kilometers traveled on business trips by ALTER employees, the energy consumption in our buildings, and the consumption of paper and water. The figures are consolidated at the corporate level to issue the so-called TNG Non-Financial Report (NFR).

In the graphs below we show the CO2 development in France and Spain. It is striking that electricity consumption in Spain does not generate CO2. This is because in Spain we have a "clean energy" contract with our electricity company.
