This is what you can expect

At ALTER TECHNOLOGY TÜV NORD S.A.U., located in Tres Cantos (Madrid), we are looking for a Technician or Engineer to join our Electrical Safety Testing team, within our Testing and Conformity Laboratory.

 

We offer product compliance services for highly demanding sectors such as Aerospace, Defense, Security, Industrial, and Rail. Our Electrical Safety Testing team ensures that electronic and electrical equipment meets the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive (LVD), the Machinery Directive, and other applicable European standards.

What you can expect:

  • Perform electrical safety testing of electronic/electrical equipment according to applicable standards (e.g., EN 62368-1, EN 61010-1, EN 60204-1…).
  • Prepare, configure, and operate laboratory instrumentation: power supplies, signal generators, oscilloscopes, multimeters, power meters, and data acquisition systems.
  • Generate high-quality technical documentation, including test reports, operational procedures, and failure records.
  • Interact directly with clients, providing technical support and ensuring clarity in test plans and results.
  • Apply knowledge of relevant EU directives, particularly LVD (2014/35/EU) and the Machinery Directive (2006/42/EC), to ensure compliance.
  • Actively contribute to technical improvements and process optimization within the laboratory environment.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and participate in R&D-related initiatives.
  • Support test automation through the development of electrical measurement programs using tools like LabVIEW (other platforms also valued).

This is what we expect

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Telecommunications, Industrial, Mechanical, Aerospace…), Physics, or a related field. Alternatively, higher-level vocational training in technical disciplines such as Electronic Maintenance, Electrotechnical and Automated Systems, or Industrial Automation and Robotics is equally valued.
  • Experience in testing laboratories, ideally under ENAC accreditation (ISO 17025), is highly valued.
  • Familiarity with standards such as EN 62368-1, EN 61010-1, EN 60204-1, EN 50155, EN 50124-1, EN 60598-1, EN 60601-1, EN 60335-1, MIL-STD 1275, and EN 60255-27.
  • Proactive, quality-oriented professional with attention to detail, autonomy, and teamwork skills.
  • Effective communication skills in English (spoken and written).
  • Experience or interest in test automation and programming (LabVIEW or equivalent tools) is a plus.
