Stephen Duffy
and successor to Luis Gómez

Stephen Duffy has been designated CEO of the business unit Digital & Semiconductor at TÜV NORD GROUP at the beginning of January 2026. He will succeed Luis Goméz, who will retire.
Stephen Duffy is a physicist specialising in semiconductor, photonic and quantum technologies. From 2017 to 2024 he was the Managing Director of ALTER TECHNOLOGY TÜV NORD UK in Livingston. Most recently, Mr. Duffy worked as a Senior Director for the US company Coherent Corporation, a publicly traded leader in laser systems and photonic components for industrial and data centre applications.

The business unit Digital & Semiconductor offers its customers services for digital and microelectronic systems in high-reliability applications under the brands ALTER, ALTER | HTV, and TÜVIT. With more than 700 employees at 11 locations in Germany, Spain, the UK, France, the USA, and Taiwan, the business unit operates globally and serves markets in aerospace, defense, medical, and various industrial sectors. In November 2025, ALTER opened a semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) facility in Minnesota, US.
