Order for 102 VCSEL laser heating modules strengthens long-term production growth at Alter UK
We are pleased to announce a new order from SIDEL for the manufacture of 102 VCSEL laser heating modules, valued at €2.0m (£1.7m). This latest contract increases the current order book with SIDEL to over £3m, highlighting the strength of the ongoing partnership between the two companies.
The order covers full materials procurement, assembly and calibration testing, with all modules scheduled for production and shipment within this year. The scale of the project represents an important and exciting step for Alter, with focused planning already underway to ensure successful delivery.
The laser heating modules will be used in PET plastic bottle moulding for drinks and liquids, replacing traditional halogen lamps. Laser heating offers greater energy efficiency and improved process control, while also enabling the moulding of coloured plastics, including 100% recycled and recyclable materials, without the risk of burning.
This order supports long-term production growth at Alter UK, with strong potential for future expansion as demand continues to increase.
