Technical Support Service Contract for Market Surveillance of Telecommunications Equipment
by: Marian Lozano
Thanks to the trust placed in us over the past five years, within the framework of the previous technical support service contract for the Market Surveillance of telecommunications equipment, we have once again been awarded the new tender for the next five years, with an execution period running from December 2025 to December 2030.
Market surveillance activities for telecommunications equipment are carried out, among other regulations, in accordance with Royal Decree 188/2016, which sets out the requirements for the marketing, commissioning and use of radio equipment.
During this new period, the team assigned to SETELECO will carry out the following main functions:
• Conducting market studies aimed at assessing the market situation of telecommunications equipment in Spain.
• Verification of technical and administrative documentation, through the analysis of documentation submitted by economic operators who manufacture and/or market telecommunications equipment.
• Preparation of reports and statistics relating to previously established market surveillance campaigns.
• Technical support for SETELECO’s internal laboratory, including the preparation and verification of test setups for the equipment inspected.
The execution of this contract will be carried out by the team formed by Marian Lozano, Isabel Pérez and Raquel Galán, whose experience and technical expertise have been key to the continuity and success of this service.
Telecommunications Equipment Conformity Verification Contract
As an important milestone and a major achievement for our organisation, we have been awarded a second contract with SETELECO—covering the same execution period as the technical support contract, from December 2025 to December 2030—focused on verifying compliance with the regulatory requirements applicable to telecommunications equipment.
Within the framework of this contract, ALTER will carry out the conformity verification of equipment inspected by SETELECO, by checking compliance with both formal and technical/essential requirements through visual inspections and laboratory testing.
This contract will be executed by the specialised staff of the Alter laboratory, ensuring a high level of technical rigour, independence and reliability throughout the evaluation processes.
This contract represents a strategic milestone for our organisation, expanding our competencies in the field of Market Surveillance and strengthening our role in technical assessment processes, contributing to ensuring that telecommunications equipment placed on the market complies with current regulations and essential applicable requirements.
