Their Somerville platform provides PIC developers with a versatile, out-of-the-box option for robust chip packaging, helping to avoid the cost and delays often associated with fully custom engineered solutions.

While open PCB-based evaluation platforms can support early testing, they are not always suitable for long-term use or product release. Exposed platforms can be more vulnerable to breakage, debris and moisture. The hermetic Somerville platform offers a similarly priced alternative while providing a sealed package that can support designs moving closer to market deployment.
