Successful Administrative Scope Extension for IEC 62443-2-1:2024 in IECEE CB Scheme
Good news for IACS asset owners: As of recently, TÜVIT as the testing laboratory and TÜV NORD CERT as certification body in IECEE can officially carry out tests and certification in accordance with the new IEC 62443-2-1:2024 standard “Security for industrial automation and control systems - Part 2-1: Security program requirements for IACS asset owners”. Together with TÜV NORD CERT, this makes TÜVIT the first and so far the only certification body and testing laboratory in the world which can offer testing and certification in accordance with IEC 62443-2-1:2024. As the previous Edition 1 from 2010 was no longer up to date, Part 2-1 of IEC 62443 has been updated. The 2024 version of the standard part takes into account the current state of the art for implementation of Cyber Security Management System focusing on Industrial Automation and Control System (IACS) and concentrates on requirements for asset owners. In addition, overlaps with information security management systems have been reduced and a maturity model for assessing the requirements has been introduced. This makes it easier for IACS asset owners to integrate security measures into existing processes and systematically improve the security of their industrial environment.
